Catholic Faith or Catholic Church?

The following is a wise and challenging response to the editorial in The Tablet entitled 'The other path to Rome', and rightly contrasts the generosity and wisdom of Benedict XVI with the fears and potential resentment of cradle Catholics towards Anglo-Catholics who accept the invitation offered them by Anglicanorum Coetibus.

As a Catholic myself, I think many people have longed for and yearned for and prayed for reconciliation with the Anglican Church and its wonderful services. I think it essential when the churches are bbeing attacked on all sides by atheists, secularists and politicians determined not to support human life and dignity.Pope Benedict is ace and people should be obedient to his wise and holy leadership and be generous towards those in such a position and forget the past. Trouble is, in what was for so many years a persecuted minority, memories die slowly-you only need to look at Ireland! But the Lord will make it happen if He wills it-which he does. The Lord said that disunity was a big sin, a big sore and we need to be open hearted and generous.Benedict needs to sort out the hierarchy as well.

Thank you for your interesting comment on my blog 'Mary in Monmouth'.I actually live in Tewkesbury at the moment and my son went to Cheltenham College for a while, then to Kings in Gloucester.
